The Pop Up Diaries - Day One June 17th, 2021
Arrived to my home for the week in York, ME last night. This morning my wrist alarm went off at it usual 8:15 …no wories, I ‘ve been up since 5:30! I admit to being a little keyed up. and maybe a touch exhausted. The butterflies in my stomach are excited about the week at Maine Art Hill in Kennebunkport and anxious that something important may have been oerlooked, Having not hung a solo show in three years, I had forgotten how much work it is! (Oddly enough, this makes me think of childbirth. That’s another situation where a certain amount of forgetting is necessary before a repeat performance.)
DAY ONE is a STUNNINGLY beautiful day here in Maine. Thank you Jackie and Donna for being my first visitors - driving all the way up from Massachusetts and waiting patiently as I finalized hanging my work. The smiles of you and your friends made the moment of finishing hanging even sweeter. :) (A special thank you to you Donna, for being the first person who chose to bring a piece of my work home with them!)
If you’ve never had the opportunity to visit Maine Art Hill you should make jplans to do so. The staff and owners are some of the most pleasant people I’ve had the pleasure to meet and there is so much here to take in…the main gallery, the studios (that’s where you’ll find me if you make it up this week) and the shows!
